A Supernatural Foundation

derb4262

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus," (Ephesians 2:4-6).

Without a supernatural foundation to the emancipation of Israel from Egypt, the subsequent history of Israel is so astounding that it is harder to believe than that the world was created by the Word of God's power. Without a supernatural foundation to my emancipation from the bondage of sin, my subsequent history is so astounding that it is harder to believe than that the sun stood still for Moses.

To insist that free will is the foundation of emancipation from the bondage of sin is to find it easier to believe that humans have an autonomous will than that God is Sovereign. It is the reality of 'dead in the water' (Israelites) or 'dead in trespasses' (myself) that requires a supernatural foundation for any emancipation to take place.

In the brightest and darkest hours of life God is guiding His people with presiding and intricate design closer and closer toward the realization of His already and not yet Kingdom.
