Isaiah 7:14 "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel (God with us).
Celebrations pre-occupied with decorating, eating, giving and recieving gifts, and a seasonal spirit, while Christ is ignored, is a dead Christmas. It's a once-yearly experience of emotionally manipulated peace and goodwill. In other words: much ado about nothing.
No matter how Christmas is celebrated, a dead Christmas is of no lasting, personal value.
Living Christmas is:
a life decorated with virtue and the fruits of the Spirit,
a soul fed on the Word,
with gifts of genuine Christian love,
in the expression of joy o'er Jesus birth,
while finding Him living inside the heart.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." John 1:1-4
The reason for the widespread phenomenon of dead Christmas celebrations is breath-takingly simple and direct in God's Word: it's easier to pass a camel through the eye of a needle than for a rich (in self) person to enter the Kingdom of God (Matthew 19:24)" because the "fool has said in his heart, there is no God (Psalm 14:1)".
