Eaten by Worms

"I know that my Redeemer lives, and that He will stand on the earth at the last day; and even though my body will be eaten by worms, I will see God (in my resurrected body).  I will see Him for myself with my own eyes..."  Job 19:25-27a

The only documented conversation between Satan and God (Job 1:7-12) is the one that led to Job's excruciating experience where God said, in effect, "go ahead, try to kill Job's faith". Excruciating trauma and sorrow, along with ignorant friends are not unique to Job, perhaps these conversations happen more often?

God overrules His children's suffering in their favor for many purposes in His plan. But one purpose is that His children know that they know what they know: the Redeemer lives and therefore their faith lives! Like with Job, that certain knowledge is enough. It isn't enough to avoid suffering, but enough to keep the faith, reach eternity, and weigh the present suffering more accurately in the scale of comparative worth: temporal life and death versus eternal life and death.

In seemingly endless dark tunnels of suffering, the faith of Christ inside brings souls to the glorious and full realization that the Redeemer lives and will stand on the earth at the last day. And I will see Him, as redeemed, in my body, with my eyes.
