"Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away." Song of Songs 2:13
Comes a day and Jesus says, "come away":
Away from sorrow, sickness, and dread,
Away from hardship, labor, and grief.
Comes a day and Jesus will say, "come away":
To endless spring,
pastures green,
living water,
and bread of life.
Comes a day and Jesus will say, "come away".
to a host of angels,
the city of God
the Firstborn of many,
men made perfect -
to Me.
Comes today, and I will say, "I come."
Toward contentment, wellness, and joy,
Toward fullness, perfection, and peace.
Toward stillness, safety, and a heavenly home.
Comes today, again and again, and I will say,
through the Word and along the Way, "I come".
But there comes one day when Jesus will say, "come away",
one day when my work on earth is done.
On that day Jesus will say, "come away", and I will surely fly away.
