"And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others." (Ephesians 2:1-3)
To get from where we were (Ephesians 2:1-3) to where we are going (Ephesians 4:20-24) requires one Divinely guided step at a time. God will supply all our needs for every step (Philippians 4:19). He is able as Almighty, willing as Father, and obligated by Christ's work. When the supply seems short for the need, ask, "Am I wanting what He knows I need? Or 'needing' what I will not let go of wanting?".
Where are the Divinely guided steps leading us? To the condition of the new man in Christ from the tiny Garden of Eden escalated to the whole earth (Isaiah 9:11); from the nature of the 1st Adam escalated to the nature of the 2nd Adam (1 Corinthians 15:45-48); and from Adam's periodic stroll with God in the cool of the day (Genesis 3:8) escalated to dwelling together eternally in friendship and fellowship (John 17:11, Revelation 3:12,21), and all of it will appear and be seen, on the earth, in our flesh, with our eyes (Job 19:25-27).
Step forward into future with faith,
Or stand fixed at the ingress,
Peering through keyholes,
The perpetual dreamer. (Written by Jessica E. Benson)
