Psalm 23:1a "The LORD is my Shepherd"

Listen - sickness or health; riches or poverty; peace or war; fed or hungry; employed or unemployed; gladness or grief; afraid or fearless - live the life God gave you with the settled confidence that "the LORD is my Shepherd".

And whenever unsettled mental energy dominates the settled confidence - take it as rich opportunity to return to the Shepherd of your soul.

  • The LORD is my Shepherd. There is only one Lord - in body and soul, in life and death I belong to Him, my faithful Savior, the Shepherd Jesus Christ.

  • The LORD is my Shepherd. Fully God, eternal, at Creation, incarnate, at the Cross, in the Resurrection, and today when I am unsettled, He is my Shepherd.

  • The LORD is my Shepherd. He is intimately acquainted with every circumstance, and no power or force can separate me from His saving love.

  • The LORD is my Shepherd. Mine specifically, not the Shepherd of an unidentified crowd. "I am my beloved's and He is mine". (Song of Solomon 6:3)

  • The LORD is my Shepherd. Whether I stray or stay - He keeps or finds me; in tears or fears - He holds me; in safety or danger - He preserves me. He leads me to know Him, hear Him, love Him, trust Him and follow Him.

"For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls." 1 Peter 2:25

No ifs, ands, or buts about it.
