Psalm 131
"O Lord, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me; But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; Like a weaned child is my soul within me; O Israel, hope in the Lord, From this time forth and forevermore."
Longest to Learn
Believers who make this confession have begun to learn to mind their own business, and to leave others to mind theirs. They are thoughtful people, yet do not try to pry into things or become overly opinionated about things that God has not revealed; they do not speculate about things not in evidence, and are not self-conceited or self-appointed about or to anything. As inhabitants in the world they do not seek to catapult themselves into, or control, the public discourse. Instead, they focus themselves on godliness, on keeping their God-given sphere, and on diligently serving in it.
