The road is narrow, the journey is long, and your soul is sick.
Take your medicine one day at a time.
What should I do today?
Do your duty, faithfully;
wait, quietly;
and do good, joyfully.
What should I worry about today?
Worry about Gods system of accounting your value;
God's eyes looking at your heart;
and the applause of heaven.
What if circumstances or emotions threaten to overwhelm me today?
Return to thoughts of His promise,
of His faithfulness,
and of His mercy.
What if I fail completely today?
Give thanks that the everlasting arms are underneath,
that the blood of Christ is enough,
and that tomorrow is a new day.
What if I succeed today?
Give thanks that the Father hid you,
the Son covered you,
and the Spirit enlivened you.
Repeat every day, one day at a time.
