The Dark Passenger

derb4262

Philippians 2:5 "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,"

The Son of God, from birth to death, revealed Himself by the manner, tone, and visual imagery through which He presented Himself, which was fully and perfectly congruent with the content of all His interactions in word and deed. And all that had been spoken of Him for the millenia preceding His birth was fully and perfectly congruent with the life He lived in flesh. This is essentially why He is the Word made flesh. He represented ancient, absolute Truth as fully-God in fully-human flesh, perfectly.

In seeking to live toward 'the mind of Christ', the believer is essentially driving toward the quality of Christ's congruent life, while a dark passenger, the fallen nature, rides along. The passenger's manner, tone, and the visual imagery through which he communicates non-verbally, are largely incongruent with the content of his words and deeds. The dark passenger will ride along until perfected with Christ in Glory, always seeking supremacy over the indwelling Life of Christ.

Focus forward, eyes on Christ, and diligently silence the dark passenger.
