The Prince of Peace: Irresistible

derb4262

God will cause His people to yield self-will whether they are willing or not because irresistible grace does not mean a lack of resistance: it means resistance will not ultimately be successful. But that is no reason to be inactive in yielding self-will (Philippians 2:12-13).

In unpeaceful moments, one could wait until all unrestrained anger, disappointment, fear, confusion, anxiety, and sorrow are expressed and life continues with underlying resentment, on to the next counterfeit peace. But why? The sooner self-will is yielded, the sooner the Prince of Peace will dominate the felt experience and reflection of Himself through His people.

Evaluate the relative value of eternity with God versus momentary elements of time (Romans 14:8) and practicing the art of yielding (Jeremiah 29:11, Psalm 62:5, Psalm 40:1) as God's will unfolds before your eyes.

One is never in danger when at peace with God, and never safe when not.
