Thoughts On Prayer (2)

"The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call on Him in truth." (Psalm 145:18)

  • Prayers often reveal preoccupation with temporal moments in which humans desire to reverse the effects of the fall. The sole right to pray is on the basis of Jesus work in actually reversing the effects of the fall, but not for the purpose of an angst free life. In truth, it's toward the full realization of that reverse in the New heaven and earth.

  • Prayer is designed as relational communication, not robotic exchange. It operates by God's miraculous power to transform us progressively to will His will and speak it back to Him so that He can answer it. It's a lifelong miracle that elevates us beyond the state of Adam prior to the fall. That is, to the stature of Jesus Christ, fit to inhabit the New Heaven and Earth, living in the full realization of Jesus' intercessory prayer for all of His disciples (John 17), and in the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13, Luke 11:1-4)

  • In the New Heaven and Earth, the name of our Father will be hallowed in all the New earth, as it now is in heaven; the Kingdom will be in its full realization and His will will have been completed to the praise of His Glory and our good. To that end, we will have always received 'our daily bread', until by God's appointment we will have come 'face to face' with Living Water and the Bread of Life. Our sins and temptations, ever with us now, will be no more. All of this will be fully realized because God's Kingdom will have come in His power for His glory, and with the prompting of the prayers of His people in following Jesus.
