Psalm 89:9 "You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them."
For all the stormy seas of life there are only two possible responses.
First, and completely natural, is a response of fear that results in attempts to fight and control the raging waves.
Second, and unnatural, is faith that seeks God in prayer to still the waves of fear. Wave-riding faith always gets somewhere, even if 'somewhere' is through death and into the heavens with Jesus Christ.
Fear and faith will always fight, but as we develop in wave-riding faith, we realize that a free ride on a humongous wave is much more pleasant than the alternative. And God will still the waves of our fears.
Truth becomes clearer with every wave: ending up somewhere with God is better than ending up anywhere without Him.
